Backing Tracks/Live Musicians
I have songs ready to sing with a great guitarist or pianist if your space will allow. The same musicians can form a group for larger spaces. Alternatively I can sing to my own recordings.
The backing tracks I am singing to have all been specifically arranged by myself using the "Band in a Box" computer programme. They are the result of much 'behind the scenes' work as I build the tracks up by ear, but I believe it gives an individuality to what I have to offer. You won't hear the exact same arrangement of these songs sung elsewhere.
Jazz Standards Repertoire
My choice of Jazz music genre definitely evokes a relaxing atmosphere and one of sophistication, when standards are played "to the book" rather than boundaries being stretched in the pursuit of discovery. If you know your jazz/film star singers from the past, you may notice I pay homage to Ella Fitzgerald, Doris Day and Marilyn Monroe in some of my songs
Manouche Jazz (French Swing)
When I started this project, I discovered that my voice was well suited to the Manouche style of Jazz. This is sometimes referred to as "Gypsy Jazz" and is essentially a style that incorporates swing from the pre-war era in France - some think of it as Cafe Music or describe it as "Hot Club" style. It has a good beat to dance to unlike some other forms of jazz and works well at vintage events and fetes as a lively accompaniment. Performance of these songs does not involve the piano.

As someone who trained from a young age as a professional musician and has worked in the music profession in some form or other for over 30 years, there is plenty that can be found about me on the internet if you just google my name - Wendy Lambros! In short, I am a multi instrumentalist and music teacher, in addition to my work as "Wendy Sings".
