The Great American Songbook

There is nothing I like more than to be in the background at a bistro or private party singing the hits from the "Tin Pan Alley" writers of the 30's - such as Cole Porter, George Gershin, Harold Arlen to name but a few. The songs have prevailed through time, having been popularised time and again by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Doris Day, Peggy Lee, Astrud Gilberto and many more iconic recording artists.

These breezy bossas and swing numbers are the perfect 'soft vintage' accompaniment for an air of sophistication and equally make gentle and engaging entertainment with sometimes amusing words and stories that they tell.

Girl from Ipanema (boy in my case!)

From "Lady and the Tramp", sung by Peggy Lee

An amusing story - well received in the carehomes!
